Wheel Worx
started as a part time, after hours, repair
operation to the wheels of friends. The
concept surged into action in the fall of
1988. Bruce Preissler, who was overwhelmed
very quickly with work, collaborated with
Stuart UUsma to take on the challenge. They
both had day businesses to attend to so they
were limited to night hours only After two
years of making late night repairs, they
decided to go full time into wheel repair.
In 1990, they opened their first shop
dedicated to alloy wheel repair. This was a
meager 1200 square foot building. They
marketed the insurance companies initially
but they were not very receptive to the new
idea. They then went directly to the body
shops where they warmly embraced the
concept. The body shops immediately
recognized the huge savings potential.
Wheel Worx put their first van and
driver on the road to service their
accounts.
The winter weather was
terrible that year. Bad weather means many
damaged wheels, a great time for business.
They grew and prospered over the next 10
years while building a working relationship
with the insurance companies and moving to a
larger facility in 1997. In 2000, Stuart
came to Bruce and said he wanted to pursue a
career building houses since he could see
the housing market was ready to take off, a
great move. They parted on the best of
terms; a fantastic partnership unfortunately
ended.
Today Bruce is in the
same building. The wheel business has
greatly changed over the last few years. Big
business has entered the market. None of
these companies even knew alloy wheel repair
existed when Wheel Worx started. They
trade quality for massive profits to support
their corporate office buildings, huge
bonuses and their multiple locations. The
money to do this comes from short cuts taken
to do your wheel repair. They do not put the
money into the repair of your wheel;
instead, it goes into their pockets.
Everything is short cut at your expense.
These multi-million dollar businesses have
pulled down the entire industry. Body shops
are willing to sacrifice a low quality wheel
repair for fast delivery of a sub-standard
product to reap greater profits for
themselves. Corporate, Sub-standard wheel
repair along with low quality, get them out
the door repairs, helps body shops prosper
and you take the loss.
At Wheel Worx
they take the necessary time and money to
make the highest quality repairs possible
They are not the cheapest or the fastest
service but they strive to be the best. They
have been in the same location for almost 10
years. They do not offer repaired replace
