- Crack Repair
At Wheel Worx
we take the time to do the repair in a
fashion that lasts. We cut the crack
wider and farther extending beyond any
stress areas. Then we weld from both
sides. This not only fuses the weld to
the parent metal it also goes through
the crack and bonds to the weld on the
other side...

- Mounting & Balancing
A modern day
tire remover, called a touch less rim
clamp, is the only equipment to use.
Never let anyone work for you having the
mounting equipment with the big vertical
screw in the center. A rim clamp has
four clamps that grab the rim on the

- Bends
Every wheel
company does it a little differently.
Most of the equipment designs fabricated
by a shop are never shared with anyone.
Wheel Worx also has their own way of
correcting bends. We have an air over

- Curb Abrasions
Curb
abrasion is usually caused when we park
too close to a curb. The alloy wheel
grinds against the concrete. This acts
like a file removing metal and making
marks in the wheel. These repairs are
accomplished adding metal, by TIG

- Refinishing
When
refinishing a wheel we first remove the
tire. The wheels are spun for a visual
inspection to see if they may be damaged
beyond making a safe repair. If they
pass this phase, they are cleaned to
remove road debris. A more through
inspection is done by checking them with
a dial indicator. A dial indicator is a
clock like instrument used by machinists
to measure tolerances to the .0001”...

Chrome Wheels loosing air
Chrome wheels tend to loose their
ability to seal at the bead seat. The
chemicals used in plating are very
toxic. When you mount a tire on a chrome
rim the rubber does not allow the rim to
breathe the toxins away. They are sealed
to the rim by the rubber this causes the
chrome to flack and this effect builds
up more and more corrosion over a period
of time...
